Start of the water quality monitoring of Lake Tanganyika by Enabel’s LATAWAMA Project in Burundi, in support of the water analysis laboratory of Obpe Burundi. The geo-referencing of the sampling sites and the in-situ analyses started this November 2022.
The objective is to feed the database on the quality of the waters of Lake Tanganyika, developed by the LATAWAMA project of EnabelauBurundi, and funded by the European Union. A step forward that brings the project closer to the actual implementation of the Lake Tanganyika water quality monitoring network.
